The Friends of Hopkinton’s goal is to provide community activities that encourage and support town spirit, enthusiasm, and pride.
The Friends of Hopkinton, Inc originally started with seed money from the 275th Town Anniversary; under the name of the Civic Activity Committee. We had Family Days in the 1980’s. In 2013 the Friends of Hopkinton Anniversary Celebrations, Inc formed. We managed the 300th Anniversary Parade.
We did fund raising through bottle collection, merchandise sales, Marathon spaghetti dinner, swing dances, historic house tours, and family ham and bean supper. The Friends financed 6 of the 8 professional groups in the parade. We utilized the Historic Train Station. We will give seed money forward to the Town for the future 325th Town Anniversary
The present Friends of Hopkinton sponsors two events Family Day in September and Family Night in February
Friends of Hopkinton would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all our sponsors that help make the 2019 Family Day a wonderful event for the Town of Hopkinton.
Stay tuned for more information about our 2022 Family Day to be held in the fall of 2022.
Friends of Hopkinton is planning to repeat Family Night in February 2022. This event will be held at the Woodville Rod & Gun Club. Tickets will be available starting in October 2021. Details to follow.
Family Night is an opportunity to enjoy some entertainment and meet new people from town. A dinner is provided.
Tom Khoo from Penang, Malaysia is The Friends of Hopkinton Marathon runner on April 15, 2019.
Tom has been an avid runner since he was a teenager. He has completed 4 World Majors including marathons in London, Berlin, Chicago and New York.
