Friends of Hopkintons Marathon Runners!

I will be running the 2025 Boston Marathon for a local organization, Friends of Hopkinton. Their mission is to provide community services & activities that encourage town spirit, family unity and community support. If it is one thing that I have learned in the last two years is that family and community are essential and serve as a pillar to one’s strength.
Running the Boston Marathon for a local charity is an incredible privilege, honor and opportunity to make a meaningful difference. As I lace up my running shoes and prepare for the iconic 26.2 mile journey, I am driven by the knowledge that every step I take will benefit a local charity. The Boston Marathon is not just a race, but a symbol of strength, determination, and resilience. By crossing the finish line, I aim to inspire others to believe in their own abilities.
Since my life altering stroke in April of 2023, it has been my goal to not let my second chance at life pass me by. Life is fleeting. I believe I am still here for a reason! My second chance is to shed light and lead the way for all members of the community, stroke survivors, those battling long term illness, silent struggles and everyone needing a helping hand.
I am honored to be a part of this incredible event and to run for a local charity that is making a tangible impact on the lives of individuals and families in our community.

My name is Morgan and I am a doctoral student at Brown University studying Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry. I grew up in the small town of Hopkinton and I am often reminded that I am the person I am today not just because I had great parents, but because of the community I was raised in. I love the small town I grew up in; where I went to school, played sports, cheered on Boston Marathon runners, and made lifelong friendships. I want future generations to experience the same sense of community that I did. With this, I am excited to share that I am running the Boston Marathon for The Friends of Hopkinton in 2023. From planning town anniversary celebrations to hosting the annual town Family Day and Family Fling, the Friends of Hopkinton are committed to providing activities that encourage town spirit, enthusiasm, and pride. Their community-wide events, especially their famous Family Day, really showcase the homey feeling of Hopkinton. By offering an array of free activities for everyone to enjoy including live entertainment, fun, games, food, and fireworks, the Friends of Hopkinton continuously brings the town together throughout the year.

Besides being home to the starting line of one of the world’s oldest and best-known marathons (Boston!), Hopkinton, MA is also my home. The population is small — not even enough to fill Fenway Park — but the amount of love, charm, and support that stems from my hometown is immeasurable. Every year Hopkinton triples in size from its 16,000 residents to welcome more than 30,000 Boston Marathon participants. But while others may only think of Hopkinton on the third Monday in April, pride and essence pervades my home all year-round. With this, it is my greatest pleasure to give back to the community that has given so much to me.
I am beyond excited and extremely grateful for the opportunity to run the 125th Boston Marathon for the Friends of Hopkinton, supporting them in their goal to provide community activities that encourage town spirit, enthusiasm, and pride. In addition to planning town anniversary celebrations, the Friends of Hopkinton hosts annual town Family Day and Family Fling events. They also bring together families, non-profits, clubs, and businesses by offering an array of free activities for everyone to enjoy including live entertainment, fun, games, food, and fireworks.
Being a part of a community can make us feel as though we are a part of something greater than ourselves. It provides us with opportunities to connect with people, to reach for our goals, and better ourselves and others. Please consider donating to this wonderful organization and supporting me as I strive to complete a lifelong dream of running the Boston Marathon for, and from my hometown. Every contribution has a direct impact on strengthening and uniting families and the benevolent community in which they are a part of. All donations are immensely appreciated. Thank you so much!
